Review:

After enjoying Despicable Me in 2010, I was quite excited about DM2 but wary if the minion filled sequel would match up. However before you go, be sure to watch the original Despicable Me. In the second installment, the movie carries on from the first one, where retired supervillain Gru (Steve Carell) is happily settled with the three little girls, the minions and Dr. Nefario. Lucy (Kristen Wiig) kidnaps Gru to the Anti-Villain League headquarters, where Silas Ramsbottom explains about a dangerous weapon that turns living creatures into killing machines, this begins their task to go undercover at a mall to seize a suspected evildoer.

Ultimately, the movie effectively evokes emotions from audiences through its heavy themes of family. This comes from the need for a motherly figure, where Agnes wants Gru to fall in love with Lucy and the experiences encountered by Gru in fatherhood, particularly Margo’s crush on Eduardo, as the girls are everything to him. This film is perfect for people of all ages. No matter how old you are, you will be bound to laugh every time the minions appear. These quirkly yellow creatures are hilarious in their incomprehensible dialogue and mischievous shenanigans. While older audiences can find it amusing that a grown man has trouble asking a woman out on a date.
